Privacy and data use
Updated 2 November 2026 · EuroCrash site information
This notice explains the data used by the current EuroCrash features.
Accounts and community content
Supabase supplies account authentication, the report database and media storage. Registering provides an email address and authentication information to that service. Community reports contain the title, description, location and observation time you submit. Published reports are visible to site visitors. Member chat uses a display name and message content visible to signed-in members; it is not a private messaging service.
Do not include names of people involved in incidents, contact details, faces, vehicle plates or other unnecessary personal information in public content. Submitted media is stored privately and approved report media can be displayed through short-lived access links. Private storage does not make an approved photograph confidential once it is shown publicly.
Guest reports without registration
You can submit a text-only report with a contact email and no account or password. We do not verify that email or create an account from it. The email is stored separately from public report data and is accessible only to moderators through the application permissions. It is used for report-related contact, not displayed on the map or used to subscribe you to marketing. Guest reports need moderator review and have submission limits. Contact details are deleted when their report is deleted through the retention process. Guest submissions do not provide a signed-in My reports dashboard; use the Contact page for correction or removal requests.
Location and nearby alerts
Finding your location requires browser permission. The map displays a device position; this can be inaccurate. Using your position for route search or a report sends the coordinates needed for those features to the relevant service.
Background crash alerts are optional and require sign-in, location permission and notification permission. Enabling them stores a push subscription and your last saved coordinates privately for delivery. The saved position expires after 24 hours for alert eligibility. Reopen the site to refresh it while travelling; the browser cannot keep following your GPS after the page closes. Use the alert controls to disable delivery, and check that the server confirms the change.
Retention and account requests
Full reports and uploaded media are designed to be removed after five hours through the scheduled cleanup process. Approved text summaries can remain in city history for up to 24 hours. Actual cleanup depends on the scheduled service; this is not an immediate deletion promise. Account and chat records have separate retention and are not covered by the five-hour report window. Contact the site operator for account deletion, access, correction or removal requests.
Browser storage and service requests
The site remembers your selected language in local browser storage. Supabase authentication may store session information in your browser so you can remain signed in. Clearing site data signs you out and resets saved preferences. Browser notification permissions and push subscriptions are managed separately.
Cloudflare delivers the site and may process network and security information such as IP address and request details. Maps and place searches contact MapTiler; traffic, routing and incident lookups contact TomTom; city weather requests contact Open-Meteo. Depending on the feature, these services receive network information, search text or coordinates required to fulfil the request. The interactive map also requests fonts from Google Fonts. Reading the static guides does not load the interactive map services.
Optional links to Google Maps, Street View and other external websites take you to those providers. Their own privacy terms apply. Service providers may process information outside your country.
Advertising
Google AdSense ad scripts are currently disabled. The ownership-verification meta tag does not request ads or set advertising cookies. This notice must be updated and appropriate consent controls reviewed before advertising is enabled.
Your choices and contact
You can browse the guides and public map without an account, decline location access, leave alerts disabled and avoid submitting personal information. For privacy questions, requests about your data or complaints about public content, email [email protected]. Explain the request without sending passwords or identity documents. Where applicable, you may also raise a concern with your local data-protection authority.
